The RÈGNE legacy: from past to present

Since 1923, RÈGNE has been weaving its history, a family story, passed down from generation to generation, and deeply rooted in craftsmanship. In 2013, drawing on our training in patternmaking, design, management, and communication in Paris, we reinvented this heritage. Far from reproducing, we chose to bring our expertise to a new dimension in Geneva. This choice responded to a deep aspiration: to reconnect with nature and find an environment conducive to the development and sharing of local values. Our passion: a vision rooted in the terroir, the world of skins, and their origins. Aware of current challenges, we have chosen to focus our expertise on sheepskin, a noble, sustainable material sourced from responsible food chains. Sheepskin, from which RÈGNE uses wool and leather, is at the heart of our sustainable fashion approach, which goes far beyond clichés.

The sheep: at the heart of our creations

Sheepskin, in all its richness, is the soul of the RÈGNE identity. It is the DNA of our house, unfolding in multiple variations. We select it for its strength, flexibility, and ability to adapt to all shapes and all lives.
The search for materials is a true journey, a thrill of discovery. Alongside the producers, we strive to identify the exact origins of the breeds we use: the Spanish Merino or the French Rambouillet for their fine wool, the Merinolandschaf (Württemberg) of German origin, or the Karakul (Astrakhan) with its distinctively glossy coat, from Central Asia (Turkestan).

We favor vegetable tanning techniques, thus reducing our environmental impact, and collaborate with artisanal tanneries located in Tuscany and Catalonia. RÈGNE is fully committed to a slow fashion approach, promoting sustainable production and pieces designed to last, far from the fleeting excitement of fast fashion. We strive to act with lucidity and responsibility, emphasizing the origins of our know-how to differentiate ourselves from standardized and polluting mass production.

The excellence of craftsmanship: our manufacturing

The limited size of our production allows us to personally monitor the manufacturing of each piece. We favor historic workshops located in the heart of European cities, guaranteeing traditional know-how and workmanship. These factories, often family-owned, share our values of tradition, innovation, and respect for a job well done. These collaborations extend to the people who embody this know-how: artisans, cutters, and pattern makers. It is a constant dialogue between RÈGNE's vision and the technical mastery of these essential partners.
